After many side steps, powerful People’s Democratic party chieftains in Osun state, Iyiola Omisore and Wole Oke are at war.

They currently take on each other over moves to take over the control of the political party’s structure in the state.

The root cause of the engagement is disclosed as the gubernatorial ambition of Omisore.

After suffering a grand defeat as PDP candidate in the election that secured Governor Rauf Aregbesola second term, Omisore want’s to participate in the process that would determine the successor of his “victor”.

The decision has been creating ripples in Osun People’s Democratic Party.

There are many who believe that the party trying to stage a come back can do better by fielding “someone else”.

Oke, a Federal House of Representatives member widely acknowledged as the reigning major influence in Osun PDP falls into the category of those not comfortable with the ambition of Omisore.

And he has put his “feelings” into “action” by initiating moves to stop Omisore’s attempt to single-handedly determine party representations in the state at all levels.

A development that if left to pass, would have facilitated an easy ride to become the PDP candidate in the upcoming Osun Gubernatorial election for next year.

Oke was “an Omisore man” and had avoided confrontation with the popular name on “party issues” until now.

“Obviously there is no way around this one and he just has to engage Senator” a source disclosed.

Checks revealed with his stance becoming popular other bigwigs against Omisore’s ambition are rapidly lining behind Oke.

Oke is said to be calling for election into all positions while Omisore wants consensus candidates put forward.

The Oke camp is said to possess the numbers to win any “election” within the Osun PDP at press time.

“Oke is the man in Osun PDP now ooo..just that he is not loud, his popularity is beyond the party…he is everywhere and much loved by all…just ask around” a source on ground stated.

Societynow gathered as the PDP prepares for the national convention in December, Oke and Omisore are currently sizing each other in Osun in the bid to gain an upper hand in determining which camp determines who represents the state and control party machinery in the state ahead of the august event.
