A member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Wole Oke, has declared that he has never, in any way, benefitted from Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, insisting that their relationship has been misunderstood in public discourse.

Oke, who spoke in reaction to comments made on a media platform said the attempt to distort historical and political facts was unfortunate, adding that the speaker was unfamiliar with Osun’s political terrain.

“I have never benefitted in any way from Governor Ademola Adeleke—financially, politically, intellectually, or otherwise. Rather, it is the other way round,” Oke asserted.

He added that those attempting to rewrite political history in Osun State should be more circumspect, especially when they are not conversant with the background of the actors involved.

“The lawyer who spoke on a media platform tried to misrepresent historical facts. I understand his plight….,” he insisted.

Oke, a long-time political actor in Osun State, recalled his past participation in the 2014 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primary, where he contested alongside the late Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke, the elder brother of the incumbent governor.

He noted that he had built political structures across all 30 local government areas of the state and the Area Office during that period.

“It is on record that I have never benefited in any way from Governor Ademola Adeleke—financially, politically, intellectually, or otherwise,” he reiterated.

Speaking further in a tone that reflected the deepening political tension ahead of future elections in the state, Oke claimed, “It is over for Governor Ademola Adeleke. He may have a better future in the entertainment industry.”

Oke and Adeleke, both prominent figures in Osun politics, were once members of the same political family under the PDP, but have since found themselves in different political camps as realignments continue ahead of the next governorship cycle in the state.
