Two-term Governor of Ogun state Ibikunle Oyelaja Amosun performs his last tasks in the office today, Tuesday, May 28, 2019.

A new man, Dapo Abiodun takes over as Governor of Ogun state tomorrow, Wednesday, May 29, 2019.

Amosun goes out in a hail of controversy over his style of administration, projects he executed and overboard opposition to Abiodun’s emergence as his successor.

Amosun is particularly accused of putting in place financial landmines that would make governance an ordeal for Abiodun with last minutes promotions and appointments, award and initiating of contracts as well as approval of payments he dodged while in office.

Societynow.ng, however, learned that he may be out of office by tomorrow, Amosun who takes up responsibilities as one of the Senators representing Ogun state is certainly not walking away from the consequences of his actions.

Insiders disclosed to societynow.ng that some of the backers of the new government are already pushing for a compilation of all the projects initiated by Amosun as governor, the state of completion and costs associated with them as well as the loans piled up home and abroad against the backdrop of revenue that accrued to the administration.

Societynow.ng learned that the move is premised on the claim that the people of Ogun state need to ‘’understand the state of things’’ as Abiodun takes over.

‘’The aim is simply to let the people judge the situation and determine whether Amosun should be allowed to walk away or answer questions where necessary’’ societynow.ng learned.

According to multiple sources, the move which is aimed at giving Abiodun a much-needed edge over whatever ‘’troubles created’’ by the Amosun government is speedily gaining acceptance amongst the promoters of the incoming administration.
