Saturday August 27 2011 is here and scandalized actress Mercy Johnson is almost done with the wedding that has attracted limitless controversy from all corners.

The actress accused of husband snatching by lovely, the wife of her bride – Odi kick started the marriage ceremony against all odds on Friday August 26 2011 at her parents the house in Okoko Lagos.

The event was the traditional arm of the wedding- and it was reportedly coated with the intimidating presence of security operatives.

The media and uninvited guests were kept out of the venue.

The wedding proper started off at 12.00 p.m August 27 2011, with a registry and holy solemnization at Christ Embassy- just like the traditional ceremony, the venues were heavily guarded.

Sources divulged that only close knit family members were allowed- the media was expressly forbidden entry and coverage of the event.

An half naked woman was said to have protested the holding of the wedding at the frontage of Christ Embassy, Oregun Lagos. Her anti wedding antics were reportedly check mated by security personnel at the place.

As at the time of going to press, sources divulged that arrangements were in place for media coverage of a part of the reception- just the Red Carpet. And the privilege extended to only invited press men.

Just like the other parts of the ceremony- uninvited guests are explicitly not to be allowed in.

Over zealous security men had termed surge by photographers to capture the moment for prosperity a threat and tear gassed them, along with guests as parts of efforts to contain the situation.

The action that almost spiraled into a stampede that resulted in manhandling of invitees before it was brought under control.

Majority of Mercy Johnson’s colleague in the movie industry were absent at the wedding- same for notable celebrities from other sectors.

Further investigations conducted by www.societynowng.com revealed that victim of the actress’s wedding ceremony, Lovely and her family might have created legal leeway for Mercy and Prince Odianosen Okojie to marry each other.

Based on legal advice from their lawyer, the estranged wife’s representatives reportedly shunned court hearings on the divorce case instituted by Odi against Lovely via her father.

The hearing came up in Benin on Monday August August 22 2011.

Prince Odianosen had instituted the divorce in Benin against Lovely, his Canada based wife by serving her father- the idea was a quick legal separation from his estranged wife in time to make him free to wed the actress on August 27 2011.

Insiders claimed that Lovely’s family lawyer had advised they shun the Monday hearing with the hope of forcing the judge to adjourn the case to date after the wedding. The objective was to create a veritable case of bigamy against Odi.

Informants however revealed that the move backfired by giving Odi Legal leeway to go ahead with the wedding.

And contrary to expectations, Lovely did not come back home from Canada before the controversial wedding- a move that has started generating different interpretations.

What is not clear presently is whether the celebrated husband snatching drama is finally over or another chapter is about to be opened with the wedding come and gone.
