Member of the House of Representatives, Wole Oke, has dismissed reports linking former Osun State Deputy Governor, Senator Iyiola Omisore, with plans to leave the All Progressives Congress, APC, ahead of the state’s governorship election.

In a narratives posted on social media, Oke described Omisore as “our National Leader in Ife Ijesa Land” and warned individuals allegedly using his name to negotiate with the Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke for personal gains.

“Senator Iyiola Omisore will not defect from APC. Neither would he work against APC in the forthcoming gubernatorial election,” Oke said.

He added that Omisore is currently in Washington, D.C., on what he described as “serious business engagement” at the World Bank.

The lawmaker also dismissed reports that Hon. Famurewa and Dr. Bode Henry Olaonipekun were planning to leave the APC, while describing Barrister Ojo Williams and others as being on “sabbatical leave.”

The clarification comes as political activities intensify ahead of the Osun governorship election, with Governor Ademola Adeleke seeking re-election on the platform of the Accord Party and the APC pushing to regain control of the state.
