A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Osun State and Director-General of Osun West for the party’s governorship campaign, Omooba Dotun Babayemi, has dismissed claims linking him with the “Imole” political movement associated with Governor Ademola Adeleke.

Babayemi’s reaction followed a post by lawyer Pelumi Olajengbesi which, according to him, triggered a wave of enquiries from political associates, supporters and other concerned individuals within and outside Osun State seeking clarification on his political allegiance.

The APC stalwart said the development made it necessary for him to publicly restate his position, stressing that any suggestion that he was aligning with another political platform was unfounded.

Describing the insinuation as “nothing but mischief,” Babayemi insisted that his commitment to the APC remains firm and unwavering.

According to him, “I remain a staunch member of the APC. Together with my supporters across the state, we remain solidly in the party and that resolve remains unshakable.”

He stated that he had not held any meeting, either openly or privately, with Governor Adeleke since they parted ways, adding that attempts to associate him with another political camp were without basis.

Babayemi noted that politics should be conducted with decency and respect for facts, especially by individuals who understand the importance of accuracy in public discourse.

He reiterated that his focus remains on mobilising support for the APC governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of the August 15 election, while also working towards the reelection of President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

“Nothing changes that,” he said, adding that his supporters across the state remain committed to the APC and its electoral objectives.

“At any point in time, I pursue what I believe in and believe in whatever I pursue. This, I believe, is the hallmark of integrity,” Babayemi emphasized.
