A court case has been instituted to stop the political ambition of Solomon Adeola the Lagos Senator who won a Senatorial ticket in Ogun State.
Adeola popularly known as ‘Yayi” won the Ogun West senatorial ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a serving senator in Lagos West.
A legal hurdle has, however, been thrown on his path to actualize his ambition through a court case instituted in Ogun State capital, Abeokuta by aggrieved politicians in Ogun West – Adebiyi Tajudeen, Olajumke Ibrahim, and Muideen Akintade.
The move by the trio has further fueled agitation against the ambition of Yayi in Ogun state while his supporters stay firm.
Here are five talking points from the court case those in favor of it continue to play up.
1, He joined the Ogun West race without having stayed in Ogun State for the number of years required by law.
2, That the Lagos Senator is not from Ogun State
3, That he failed to resign as a senator representing Lagos West Senatorial district
4, Contesting without being a member of the party in Ogun West
5, Not a registered voter in Ogun West Senatorial district
The court case which describes the move by Senator Adeola as “a deliberate marginalisation and an infringement on the democratic rights of the people of Ogun West Senatorial district and of Ogun State in general’ seeks to restrain the federal lawmaker and Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) from ” “from taking a further step in allowing the first defendant to participate in the general electioneering process leading to the 2023 general from Ogun West Senatorial district or any other place in Ogun State pending the hearing and determination of the originating summon.”
