Lagos Senator Solomon Adeola “Yayi “Wins Ogun West Senatorial Ticket
in the face of a very strong last-minutes campaign against him
Solomon Olamilekan Adeola the Senator representing Lagos West has clinched the Ogun West Senatorial ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Lagos Senator better known as Yayi beat re-election seeking incumbent Senator Tolu Odebiyi to claim the ticket.
Senator’s Yayi victory is not unexpected in the face of a very strong last-minutes campaign against him on social media regarding his claimed son of the soil status
The negotiation that saw his most significant opposition Gboyega Nasir Isiaka accept a Federal House of Representatives ticket and another threat Biodun Akinlade tow the same path significantly boosted Yayi’s chances.
“The withdrawal of the other opponents, particularly Isiaka leaving Odebiyi as the main challenger guaranteed Yayi’s victory” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.
Though members of the same political party, Yayi and Odebiyi belong to different factions in a tensed struggle for the APC structure in Ogun State.
The Lagos senator is major sponsor of the faction in charge of the primary with Governor Dapo Abiodun as the leader while Odebiyi is a strong player in the other faction with former Governor Ibikule Amosun in charge.

Yayi defeated Odebiyi by 291 votes to Zero.
