Yomi Badejo-Okusanya Takes Charge As ICOBA President, Shares Vision
sworn in as the 12th President of the Igbobi College Old Boys Association
Yomi Badejo-Okusanya, founder of perception and consulting firm CMC Connect LLP, has been sworn in as the 12th President of the Igbobi College Old Boys Association (ICOBA).
The swearing-in, which took place on Saturday, September 20, 2025, brought together generations of old boys from the prestigious Lagos institution.

In his acceptance speech, Badejo-Okusanya—fondly called YBO—described the moment as a profound honour and a return of destiny, recalling how his journey at Igbobi began on September 2, 1974, when his late mother dropped him off to start in Form 1A.
“I chose Igbobi College first. But today, Igbobi College has chosen me in turn,” he told the audience, drawing applause from the association’s members.

Badejo-Okusanya, who becomes the first alumnus from Parker House to hold the presidency, said the milestone was proof that ICOBA was an association of equal opportunities. “Just like the biblical Joseph, one of the stones once rejected has now become the cornerstone of this building,” he said.

He outlined six pillars that will guide his tenure: Building a formidable ICOBA Endowment Fund; Driving significant improvements in the College’s infrastructure and assets; Facilitating the construction of a new hostel for Parker House; Enhancing students’ welfare and school experience; Projecting the Igbobi College brand more effectively, locally and globally and, Fostering a cohesive, inclusive, and purpose-driven ICOBA.

“My assignment is simple: to leave this association better than it was handed to me,” he said, pledging to build on the legacies of past presidents such as W.B. Dabiri, Lanre Keleko, T.O.M. Ipaye, Foluso Phillips, the late Olumuyiwa Kinoshi, and immediate past president Femi Olubanwo.

Badejo-Okusanya also elevated his set’s motto, “No One Left Behind (NOLB),” to a unifying principle for ICOBA under his watch. “No set, no branch, no decade will be left behind—regardless of age, house, class, or geography,” he stressed.

While assuring students and staff of continued support, he urged the school’s owners to reinvest massively in Igbobi College. “The future of this great institution cannot and must not be left to ICOBA alone,” he noted.

The inauguration was attended by distinguished old boys, among them leaders in politics, business, and public service. ICOBA counts among its members some of Nigeria’s most influential personalities, including the immediate past Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.

Badejo-Okusanya closed his remarks with a pledge of service: “I stand before you today not as a man of great means, but as one with unwavering passion for this college. I promise to listen, to learn, and to lead with integrity and vision. I promise to always put ICOBA and Igbobi College first, above all else. So help me God.”
