Why Oyetola Is “Afraid” As Two Imams Die In Quick Succession At Popular Mosque
The Governor is concerned that things may get worse, especially in the face of fresh plot
Governor Gboyega Oyetola is deeply concerned about a unraveling scenario at a popular mosque in Osun State.
Two Imams (over all leaders) have died in what is labeled quick succession as leadership tussle rages on at Insa Town Central Mosque.
The Governor is concerned that things may get worse, especially in the face of fresh plot over who takes charge at tomorrow’s Eid-Il-Fitri prayers by the factions in an intense battle for control.
Societynow.ng gathered that to forestall a breakdown of law and order and stem the spiralling out of control situation, the Governor has moved quickly.
Oyetola has issued an immediate closure of the Central Central Mosque located in Odo-Otin Local Government Council Area of Osun State,
The Governor communicated the decision to the muslim community in a statement signed by Abdullahi Adenyanju Binuyo, his Deputy Chief of Staff.
The statement stated in part that “Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, as part of efforts to ensure security of lives and properties in that axis of the State, directed that the Central Mosque be shut indefinitely to forestall further religious or communal crisis.
“Already the Mosque has recorded the death of two Imams in quick succession.
“This directive will be in place until a reconciliatory process towards amicable resolution is concluded.”
