Why Kunle ‘K-Rad’ Adegoke Is Regarded As Standout Aspirant In Osun Guber Race

Kunle Adegoke, the Senior Advocate of Nigeria popularly known as K-Rad, is regarded as the standout aspirant in the race to determine the next Governor of Osun State.

The moniker “K-Rad,” short for Kunle Radical, dates back to his university days, when he was a fiery student activist committed to the pursuit of a better society.

Now seeking the people’s mandate to govern Osun State, Adegoke brings to the table over two decades of top-tier legal, business, and civic experience—credentials many believe position him above the competition.

“K-Rad is running on ideas, not just slogans,” those familiar with his campaign assert.

A major factor setting him apart is the release of a comprehensive, well-detailed blueprint for the state’s transformation sources say.

The development plan spans key focus areas such as job creation, infrastructure, education, cultural preservation, improved public services, and most notably, a robust agricultural revolution to drive prosperity and food security.

The plan’s agricultural strategy stands out for its intentionality. It proposes mechanised clearing, plowing, and seeding of at least 500 hectares of land in each local government in the first year—tripling that output by year two and scaling up until all arable land is optimally utilized.

It also includes, use of improved seeds and planting materials, deployment of well-trained extension officers, collaboration with universities and research institutes, strengthened coordination at the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and a grassroots-level milk production programme, structured so every household owns at least two cows.

Observers describe these proposals as “game-changing” and rooted in first-hand research addressing the real and immediate needs of Osun State.

His sector-specific plans for Ile-Ife, Osogbo, and Ede have drawn particular praise, with many calling them “superlative” and “fantastic.”

In what many see as a testament to his depth and long-term commitment, K-Rad’s team continues to unveil sectoral blueprints aimed at propelling the state toward tangible progress and sustainable prosperity.

Another factor boosting Adegoke’s “standout aspirant” status is his prior 17-month, locality-to-locality campaign across Osun State between 2017 and 2018 insiders added, and explained “Then, he was widely acknowledged as the only aspirant who demonstrated such intensity of purpose, touring communities and galvanising unprecedented grassroots support.”

Findings revealed that, although he didn’t clinch the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket at the time due to internal political dynamics, the goodwill and connections he built during that period remain powerful assets today.

His growing momentum is further reinforced by his legal track record, which includes handling landmark election petitions for President Bola Tinubu and the late President Muhammadu Buhari. Coupled with sharpened policy acumen and deepening grassroots engagement, insiders say K-Rad now stands as a formidable force in the race.

Hailing from Osogbo—Osun’s capital—, his loyalists insist Adegoke enjoys symbolic significance.

His team describes him as “a man who will lead without discrimination and with the fear of God, as a deeply principled and God-fearing personality.”
