There is an unexpected turn in the battle to determine whether incumbent retains his seat or a new governor emerges in Oyo state 2015.

Information filtering indicate re election seeking Mr Abiola Ajimobi has made a shock approach to one of his main adversaries in the fast becoming intense affair.

Informants claim to societynowng.com that Mr Ajimobi just made shock overtures to Otunba Alao Akala for them to work together!.

Mr Ajimobi defeated Akala to occupy his present position.

While Ajimobi operates on the political platform of All Progressives Congress, Akala ruled and intend to retake power on the crest of People’s Democratic Party.

Information made available to societynowng.com alleged the approach to work together with the sitting governor was made to the contender via a third party.
The revelation alleged Temi Adibi, the caretaker chairman of Ogbomoso Local government the fore runner of the attempt.

Adibi is a known rapid loyalist of Mr Ajimobi.

Akala’s handlers claim Adibi came to ‘sound’ their principal out on the possibility of joining Ajimobi in APC in exchange of for ‘any term or condition’.

The former governor reportedly turned down the offer.
The move is seen as a bold political ploy by Ajimobi to neutralise opposition against him, before things get out of hand.

In luring Akala to his side, he would have taken out a major opponent and greatly shore up chances at retaining his seat by dividing the votes of his opponents – with the other half to his side.

Observers claim Akala became pliable to pressure from Ajimobi and his crew based on the groundswell support his campaign has garnered.

Since he declared his intention to return to his former post – with his party’s primaries still to contend with -, the former governor and his campaigners have hit the state in a whirlwind of support canvassing, getting increasing endorsements by the day.
