Spiritual Giant, Overseer Akinrole, Passes On At 93

The Apostolic Church, Nigeria (LAWNA Territory), and the wider community mourn the loss of a spiritual giant, Overseer Matthew Adeyemi Akinrole, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at his residence in Command, Ipaja, Lagos, at the age of 93.

Known as a tireless soldier of the cross, Overseer Akinrole dedicated his entire life to the expansion of the gospel, the spiritual upliftment of countless lives, and the development of a united community of believers.

A bridge builder and respected community leader, he was widely recognized not only for his passion for soul-winning but also for embodying humility, integrity, and an unwavering devotion to the work of God.

The minister’s steadfast journey echoes his powerful words reminiscent of a warrior’s farewell: “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” His legacy remains interwoven with decades of impactful service, reflective of a life marked by profound commitment and enduring faith.

Overseer Akinrole is the father of Samuel Akinrole, a senior aide to Lagos State Commissioner for Water from Infrastructure Development, Dayo Alebiosu.

The family and members of the ministry continue to honor his memory, acknowledging his role as both a spiritual guide and a devoted patriarch whose influence spanned both religious and civic spheres.
