Political Crisis Over, My Administration Now Re-Energised, Fubara Insists
re-energised to deliver good governance to the people.
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has declared that the political crisis in the state is over, saying all parties have reconciled and his administration is now re-energised to deliver good governance to the people.
Speaking at the 2025/2026 Legal Year opening at the State High Court Complex in Port Harcourt on Friday, Fubara said he bears no grudges against anyone and is focused on implementing people-centred policies and projects.
“The political crisis is over. All parties have reconciled. I hold no ill feelings toward anyone,” he said. “Our administration is back on its feet, determined to recover lost ground and improve the lives of Rivers people.”
He reaffirmed his commitment to work with the State House of Assembly, the Judiciary, and other stakeholders to sustain peace and accelerate development.
The governor pledged continued support for the judiciary to function as an independent and effective arm of government, urging judges and lawyers to uphold justice without fear or favour.
Chief Judge of the state, Justice Simeon Amadi, in his remarks, commended the governor’s support but called for the establishment of a Committee on Prerogative of Mercy to address prison congestion.
At a thanksgiving service earlier, Fubara urged the judiciary to remain a “true temple of justice,” while cleric Patrick Eluke admonished legal practitioners to uphold honesty and fairness in their service to the people.
The event also featured prayers for the government and the judiciary, as well as presentations to key state officials.
