The Nigeria Police Force has released the official portrait of the newly appointed Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, ahead of his formal inauguration into office.

The portrait, which depicts Disu in full police regalia, signals the commencement of a new leadership era for the force following his appointment.

Disu is scheduled to be sworn in on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting to be presided over by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

His appointment has already received the backing of the Police Service Commission, clearing the path for his assumption of office as the nation’s top cop.

Until his elevation, Disu had served in various strategic capacities within the police hierarchy, earning a reputation for operational discipline and administrative competence.

The release of his official portrait comes amid expectations that his leadership will focus on strengthening internal reforms, enhancing public trust, and improving security operations across the country.

With institutional endorsement secured and a formal swearing-in date set, all eyes are now on February 4 as Disu prepares to take the oath of office and begin his tenure as Inspector-General of Police.
