Commissioner for Information in Osun state, Funke Egbemode has disclosed that the laudable Opon Imo project launched by former governor Rauf Aregbesola failed because of how the students handled it.

‘’The students hacked Opon Imo and uploaded pornography that they watched on it’’ Egbemode disclosed at a recent press briefing to disclosed the reasons why the administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola has revised some of the education policies of the immediate past government of Aregbesola.

Egbemode insisted that the hacking of Opon Imo and uploading pornographic videos – otherwise known as blue films – is common knowledge in the state.

‘’Everybody knows this’’ Egbemode stated.

Opon Imo (Tablet of Knowledge) is an educational gadget that contains all the textbooks and past questions of the students – and internet compliant.

The project was handled by Aregbesola’s son, Kabiru.

All the secondary students in the school were supposed to be given a tablet beginning with the students of the final year class.

‘’The concept is that the tablets belong to the government and the students would submit the tablets as they leave school for new students to use but the project failed after the first batch was supplied for reasons that have started coming to light’’ societynow.ng learned.
