Is he mocking the governor? Or really sincere in his mind?..those are the raging posers in the political circle of Ogun state at present.

And this development is the fallout of recent public assertion by Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, the Senator widely known as Yayi seeking to become the Governor of Ogun state.

The Senator believed to be at the opposite side of the political divide with the Governor because of his gubernatorial ambition claims the state helms man is a very good friend.

Speaking on popular Radio station in the state capital, Rock City F.M, Yayi maintains the relationship between self and Governor Amosun is “cordial”.

Though in a move that openly confirms his gubernatorial interest the Lagos Senator admitted he is yet to officially inform Governor Amosun of his gubernatorial ambition.

This is against the background of recent rage over the marking of Senator Adeola’s big money Ogun country home for demolition by agents of governor Amosun for not getting required permits.

But even in the face of this, the Senator representing Lagos west insists on the radio programme that as far as the progress of Ogun state is concerned ‘’we are both on the same page’’.

It is however an open secret in Ogun state that Governor Amosun is passionately against the emergence of Solomon Adeola as his successor.

In a recent public outburst daring those he labelled “cowards” & “Traitors” to release alleged video indicting him for electoral fraud, pouring invectives on Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and ambition to become the next Senate President, Governor Amosun specifically stated he might not know who the next governor of Ogun state his…but he knows it is certainly not one of those jumping around to succeed him.

Senator Yayi remains one of the most visible aspirants seeking to become the next governor of Ogun state.

And according to sources though in the same political party with the
Governor – All Progressives Congress, Yayi appears the one giving him major concern.

The root of the Lagos Senator’s ambition is said to sprout from the handiwork of influential political leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Both Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Governor Ibikunle Amosun are believed to be estranged at present.

The latest move by Senator Adeola labelling Amosun “a good friend” has sparked off series of interesting reactions.

Opinions are divided over the sincerity of the comments.

A Larger percentage of contributors claim “political speak”.

“he is just being funny…” “it’s all politics…” “they are good friends and he is yet to inform him of his ambition…” “tell that to the birds…” are some of the comments the development has attracted.

The general consensus however is that a lot as passed and at stake for them to be good friends as claimed by Yayi.

Governor Amosun is credited with forcing the Adeola to abandon ambition to become Ogun Senator in the last general election.

“things that happened during the build up to that election are better left unspoken…Yayi had to scamper back to Lagos where he became a Senator…..the original idea was for him to become an Ogun Senator and used that position to become Governor, but Governor Amosun saw through the plot and gave his all to scuttle it” an insider explained.

Governor’s Amosun’s pal, Gholahan Dada currently occupies the Ogun Senatorial position eyed by Yayi back then.

Senator Dada is one of those being considered by Governor Amosun to become his successor.
