It is however instructive to note that Chief Adebutu is rival People’s Democratic Party personified.
And contrary to great expectations his political enemy retained his seat – and not only this, political party All Progressives Congress went on to take over the Federal Government by winning the Presidential election.
Amosun, the man Adebutu threw everything on hand into the political ring to defeat is quietly emerging a force to be reckoned with at the national level in the new federal government.
‘ And like his mentor former president Obasanjo, he is a man who doesn’t not overlook a slight…especially one of such magnitude….a good example is what they did to his predecessor ex governor Gbenga Daniel
‘ Hounded for allegations of corruption, the bulk of which were later discarded and relentless attacks on his businesses and those of associates…that is the person Baba Adebutu went against and ended up on the losing side’ an insider analysed.
Societynowng.com learnt already Adebutu looking forward his 80th birthday is intimated pay back against him would come in a manner most hurtful.
‘there are talks conditions for his mega businesses to continue would be made harsh, particularly the lottery business’ a source divulged.
The lottery promoter’s slight consolation in the game of power and influence looming over his claim to fame is said to the fact that his son, Oladipupo won election into the Federal House of Representatives.
The son won the election on the platform of the PDP after a much drawn out campaign, defined as a strong test of will between the political machinery of the Governor and street clout of Sir Adebutu.
The hope now is that he would muster enough influence to provide a bit of cover for his father and his businesses from persecution.
Background checks revealed Adebutu got on wrong footing with Governor Amosun as a known sympathiser of former Governor Gbenga Daniel – the subject of relentless attacks by the incumbent.
