Firefighters from the Ogun State Government Fire Service, Agbara and Ota commands, responded swiftly to a fire outbreak at the Good Mattress Company, FTZ Igbesa, and successfully brought the situation under control.
Preliminary findings indicate that the fire was triggered by a power surge, which slightly affected the transformer supplying electricity to the factory. The company’s warehouse, which housed large quantities of mattresses, and sections of the production area were severely impacted by the fire.
The fire was contained within the premises, preventing its spread to neighbouring companies. Surrounding facilities were protected, and the administrative buildings were successfully saved. No lives were lost.
All personnel have since returned safely to their respective stations.
