Inside Details!…Party To Decide Lagos Speaker Obasa’s Fate In Mounting Corruption Allegations

Details available to societynow.ng has it that the Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress has taken ‘’heightened’’ interest in the mounting corruption case against Speaker of the Lagos State of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa.

Societynow.ng gathered that a committee set up by the party and headed by the state chairman, Alhaji Tunde Balogun is looking into the corruption allegations against Obasa.

Insiders disclosed that this move is based on the express directive from powerful politician Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Insiders disclosed that Tinubu took the decision after ‘’exhaustive’’ deliberation with all stakeholders in the affair – keeping in view the growing embarrassment that the increasing allegations against Obasa are causing the party and the Government.

‘’Based on that a committee headed by the state chairman was directed to be set up by the party and make recommendations on how to resolve the mess in a manner that is fair to all and postures the party as above up in handling the case’’ societynow.ng learned.

There are talks of a possible push for Obasa to ‘’step down as speaker’’ and made to go clear his name with anti-corruption agencies already interested in as one of the moves to show the party is not ‘’shielding’’ him from the investigation.
