In Defiance Of Court Process, Ondo Assembly Begins Move To Impeach Deputy Gov Ajayi Amid Tight Security

Barely 24hrs after the Deputy Governor Agboola Ajayi initiated a court action to stop his planned impeachment, the Ondo State House of Assembly has started the process.

Societynow.ng learned that the Assembly commenced the impeachment process against Ajayi today – June 7, 2020 – amid tight security.

Ajayi defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress to the rival People’s Democratic Party but refused to resign his position.

He left the APC over ‘’issues’’ with Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.

The Assembly is to deliberating on allegations of gross misconduct against Ajayi as the main reason for his impeachment.
