Heirs Insurance Launches Creators Fellowship To Make Insurance Easier For Everyone
part of efforts to simplify insurance education and boost financial literacy
Heirs Insurance Group has launched the first edition of its Creators Fellowship as part of efforts to simplify insurance education and boost financial literacy across Nigeria.
The initiative, described by the company as a social impact programme, will see the insurance group collaborate with digital storytellers to make complex insurance concepts easier to understand for everyday Nigerians.
The inaugural cohort features two content creators selected as Heirs Insurance Fellows — Joseph Onaolapo, popularly known as Jay On Air, a radio personality known for his humour-infused, community-driven content, and Oluwadamilola Bello (Dammy B), a lifestyle creator who translates everyday experiences into practical lessons.
By working directly with content creators, the company says it aims to position them as trusted educators and advocates who can use storytelling, creativity, and cultural insight to promote financial preparedness and reshape how insurance is perceived.
The Chief Marketing Officer of Heirs Insurance Group, Ifesinachi Okpagu, said the initiative is focused on driving conversations that normalise financial protection as a part of everyday life. She added that both fellows bring a shared approach to breaking down complex ideas and that the company is confident the partnership will deliver education that is “relevant, relatable, and impactful”.

Speaking on the initiative, Joseph Onaolapo said he believes in the power of storytelling to drive real change and sees the Fellowship as an opportunity to make insurance feel “real, relatable, and necessary” to Nigerians. Oluwadamilola Bello added that the Fellowship offers a meaningful chance to speak directly to business owners and young people about how insurance can support growth and offer peace of mind.
The Creators Fellowship adds to the company’s broader push to make insurance simpler and more accessible.
Last year, Heirs Insurance Group launched The Underwriters, Africa’s first insurance-themed web series. It also introduced the Heirs Insurance Essay Championship, an initiative focused on educating school students and their families on financial literacy.
Heirs Insurance Group is the insurance subsidiary of Heirs Holdings, the pan-African investment company with a presence in 24 countries across four continents. The group operates through a growing retail footprint and digital platforms, serving both corporate and individual customers in Nigeria.
