Gov Amosun Faces Another Major Trouble From Workers Just Days To Election
Charles Oyelesi
It appears the workers in Ogun state are set to give Governor Ibikunle Amosun grief in the twilight of his administration.
And at stake is the unrelenting cause of conflict between Amosun and the workers – multiple deductions from salaries.
The leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress is instigating the fresh fight against Amosun by the state workers societynow.ng gathered.
President of the national body of workers in Nigeria Comrade Ayuba Wabba has declared a plan for a fresh offensive against Amosun in Ogun state,
Comrade Ayuba made the revelation at the 2019 Congress of the NLC that held in Abuja yesterday.
The Labour Union leader specifically threatened industrial action against Amosun for three years of unremitted multiple deductions from workers salaries that include pension scheme.
‘’And this is certainly a bad time for this to be happening for Amosun’’ a source pointed out.
The Governor is contesting a Senatorial position in Ogun state.
And Amosun is facing intense opposition from his political party, All Progressives Congress in the bid to determine his successor.
His preferred candidate was forced to decamp to another political party in Amosun’s unrelenting stance to actualize the agenda of determining the next Governor of Ogun state,
‘’For renewed workers agitation to join the forces against Amosun with just a few days to general election certainly doesn’t bode well for the outgoing governor of Ogun state’’ a source stated.
Societynow.ng gathered that already opposition members have latched up to the development and further instigating workers and giving the emerging colors that take points from the governor.
While Amosun is contesting on the platform of the All Progressives Congress the governor’s preferred successor Adekunle Akinlade is the gubernatorial candidate of the rival party, Allied People’s Movement.
