D’Banj, Don Jazzy Exploring Come Back Options At The Instance Of Koko Master!

Information filtering in indicate, separated label owners- Dbanj (Dapo Oyebanjo) and Don Jazzy (Michael Ajereh) are exploring means of a comeback of sort.

The duo were partners and joint promoters of rested monster success of industry agenda setter – Mo’hits Record.

Conflicts of interest on professional and personal level tore them apart in 2011, after about 6yrs together.

What would have turned an extremely messy separation was nipped in the bud with quick intervention from concerned stakeholders- in other to protect their legacy.

Don Jazzy went on to form a new label, Marvin with artistes such as Dr Sid, Wande Coal (now on his own), D’ Prince and Tiwa Savage. D’Banj along with K-Switch floated DB Records which signed on to international act, Kanye West’ Good Music.

About 3yrs after they charted different paths, with varying successes – but certainly not to the height they jointly enjoyed, it appears a comeback of sort is plausible.

Insiders divulged at the instance of Dbanj- who has enjoyed the lesser artistic success of the duo, even in face of attempts to leverage on the fortunes of other rated entertainers with a chunk of collaborations- the former partners are looking at ways of working together again.

Sources confirmed there are two major stand in the way of the comeback move.

Attempts to retain quite a bit of individuality, despite Dbanj’s willingness to give ‘several concessions’. And outright refusal of Don Jazzy’s main investors to endorse the move.

Insiders claim, the ‘investors’ want Dbanj to come back as ‘just another artiste’- a bow down the singer known as Eja Nla (Big fish) is not ready to make.

Digs revealed outside of the ‘investors’ demand, the former partners have had ‘several plausible’ discussions.

Though it is apparent that Dbanj has not lived up to expectations and meet past artistic ratings since he parted company with Jazzy, it is equally evident that Michael Ajereh is yet to find a performer able to articulate, exhibit and make a success of his (Jazzy’s) craft like the koko master since they went separate ways.

Whether the former partners attempting to rebuilding bridge of friendship to work together in the nearest future, remains to be seen.
