Billionaire businessman and Executive Chairman of Oriental Energy, Alhaji Mohammed Indimi OFR, says Akwa Ibom State stands out as the “best State for investments” in Nigeria, crediting the peaceful atmosphere, robust security, and the hospitable character of its residents.

Indimi made the remark during a courtesy visit by the management of Oriental Energy to Governor Umo Eno at Government House, Uyo.

The Oriental Energy Chairman said the company’s long presence in the state without any disruption is proof of Akwa Ibom’s stability and business-friendly environment.

According to him, the state has consistently provided a conducive atmosphere for operations, while host communities have shown exceptional cooperation — a factor he described as crucial to Oriental Energy’s success.

The billionaire also listed some of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) interventions and pledged readiness to deepen partnerships with the state across critical development areas.

Goni Musa Sheikh, Executive Vice Chairman of the company, reinforced the point, saying Akwa Ibom has remained their primary operational base for years.

Sheik recalled several CSR projects undertaken in communities — from scholarships to medical support — and praised the host communities for their “uncommon cooperation.”

Responding, Governor Umo Eno appreciated the visit and expressed the state government’s willingness to strengthen collaboration with Oriental Energy.

He said the administration is committed to forging mutually beneficial relationships with the oil and gas sector.

“Choosing to come to see us as a government is very homely, and we really appreciate this,” the governor said. “We know your company has been here in the state, and we will continue to work with you to ensure mutual benefit for your company, the State, and the people of Akwa Ibom.”

He also highlighted the positive synergy between Oriental Energy and emerging oil companies in the state, describing it as “heartwarming.”

Governor Eno encouraged the company to consider using the 21-storey Udom Emmanuel Towers as their administrative headquarters in Uyo, saying the smart building offers strategic advantages for coordination and partnership. He further urged Oriental Energy to employ and train more Akwa Ibom indigenes to boost local capacity.

The governor commended the company for contributing generously to the State Security Trust Fund and assured of a peaceful environment for expanded operations.

And, also invited the firm to explore collaboration opportunities at the Ibom Deep Sea Port, noting its long-term economic potential.

“I invite you to take a look at our Ibom Deep Sea Port and the possibility of working together in that aspect because it will surely bring great benefits,” he added.

Indimi’s endorsement adds to growing investor confidence in Akwa Ibom, a state positioning itself as a safe, stable, and growth-ready destination for major economic players.
