Aiyedatiwa’s Aide Shares Picture That Tells Million Words About Ondo Gov
won the election for a fresh tenure on November 16, 2024
Sunday Olugbenga Abire, the Special Adviser to the Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has posted a picture that literally tells a million words.
The photo captures the struggles that preceded Aiyedatiwa’s journey to becoming Acting Governor and, later, Governor of Ondo State.

He enjoyed a strained relationship, reportedly engineered by third parties, with his predecessor, Rotimi Akeredolu, ahead of these developments.
Aiyedatiwa was sworn in as Acting Governor—after intense public pressure, a near-ouster as Deputy Governor, and intervention by President Bola Tinubu—during Akeredolu’s illness.
He assumed the role of Governor immediately after Akeredolu’s death on December 27, 2023.

He completed the remainder of Akeredolu’s term and subsequently won the election for a fresh tenure on November 16, 2024.
Abire, his Special Adviser, posted the picture that tells a million words amidst fresh discussions about Aiyedatiwa and Akeredolu, as the Governor seeks to honour the memory of his late principal.
The Special Adviser shared the picture alongside a poignant narrative that reads…
Men and brethren, whenever a man is despised, God’s jealousy flows towards him and lifts him in the presence of his enemies. This is how God works. It has always been the style of God through ages.

Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa provokes in us some lessons in sobriety. One is that, nobody can stop the agenda of God. Two, God doesn’t need your approval to bless whoever you choose to hate. Three, He gives grace to the meek and resists the proud.
Going forward, be kind. Be human. Be careful with the way you treat others. Aiyedatiwa is more than a Governor. He is a man whose God can’t stop fighting for while he holds his peace.
May my own time come too.
