The France-Nigeria Business Council has moved to strengthen its engagement with one of Nigeria’s largest conglomerates, BUA Group, as its Secretary-General, Jean Haas, paid a courtesy visit to Abdul Samad Rabiu, Founder and Executive Chairman of BUA Group and the Council’s pioneer chairman, at the company’s Lagos headquarters.

Talks during the meeting centered on deepening partnerships and expanding collaboration between BUA Group and French enterprises in key sectors of the Nigerian economy.

Areas of focus include industrial development, energy, agriculture, and infrastructure, where French technology and expertise could be deployed to support Nigeria’s growth ambitions.

For BUA Group, whose operations span cement, foods, infrastructure, and energy, the dialogue offers fresh openings to attract investment, enhance technology transfer, and unlock new value chains.

Analysts say this reinforces BUA’s strategy of positioning itself as a gateway for global enterprises seeking scale in Africa’s largest economy.

The France-Nigeria Business Council, inaugurated with Rabiu as its pioneer chairman, has consistently played a bridging role in promoting Franco-Nigerian trade and investment.

His continued engagement underscores the growing relevance of private sector leadership in shaping stronger bilateral economic ties.

Industry watchers believe that sustained collaboration between Nigerian corporates and French enterprises could help address infrastructure gaps, boost industrial output, and create employment while unlocking opportunities for long-term growth in both markets.
