One of the latest talks in town is that Nigeria’s number one Tourism boss Folorunsho Folarin Coker is yet to get over the death of his highly influential father, Elderman Nathaniel Folarin Coker.

The father of the Director General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation, the silent power who brought prestige to the title ‘Baba Eto’ (of Lagos) joined his ancestors on August 12, 2020.

He was aged 98.

The manner the NTDC boss friends hail as “Foli” ( the spelling he prefers instead of Folly) celebrated the departed giant of goodness on the recent International Father’s Day (Sunday, June 20, 2021) drew attention to how much he is yet to get over the loss societynow.ng learned.

The younger Folarin Coker ,55, who is working hard to lay a framework that would turn Tourism into a goldmine for Nigeria with a spillover prosperity on Africa did something very emotional.

He visited his father’s resting place and posted the picture with words – which have become the talk of the town – “Father’s Day without your voice, your touch, strange..Your words live forever. Rest well but don’t sleep. I still need you.”

The development attracted massive words of endearments and support for “Foli Coker” whose stint as the pilot of tourism sector in Lagos State remains unmatched.

The holder of a bachelor’s degree in combined studies, Economic and Geography and postgraduates degrees in diplomacy, international trade and finance was first appointed as the nation’s number tourism boss in 2017 based on the out of this world performance as the commissioner in charge of same sector in Lagos State and reappointed in 2021 on the leverage on the successes he has brought to bear in the face of prevailing constraints all over the world.
