Why Muiz Banire, Supporters Are Silent Over ‘’Ouster’’ As AMCON Chairman

Connected politician Muiz Banire has maintained silence over his removal from office as the chairman of the Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).

Banire who was appointed last year – 2018- was removed from office in a letter to the national assembly by President Muhammadu Buhari nominating Edward Lametek Adamu as a replacement.

Adamu is one of the deputy governors at the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Adamu’s nomination is in line with an amendment to the act governing AMCON that stipulates that a deputy governor from the Central Bank should oversee the corporation.

The amendment was carried out for months ago societynow.ng learned.

The implementation, yesterday, which removes Banire who is the immediate past Legal officer of the ruling All Progressives Congress has met with silence from the politician and his loyalists.

Insiders disclosed that Banire and his people saw it coming, were helpless about it and have accepted it in good faith.

‘’the silence and calmness from Banire’s camp is a trademark thing. Banire is not given to making noise about such things, he would rather work behind the scene to remedy the situation and move to higher ground and that is happening’’ an insider insists.

Banire’s loyalists are said to be taking a cue from their principal with the ‘’silence and calmness’’ that decorate the politician’s ouster from AMCON as chairman.
