The ongoing winning streak of Governor Dapo Abiodun and his loyalists in the ongoing All Progressives Congress primary election in Ogun State is inevitable SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

“There are no parallel primaries, the ongoing election is by the APC faction beholden to the Governor” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

There are two main factions in the Ogun state APC – the one led by Governor Dapo Abiodun and the other with his predecessor Senator Ibikunle Amosun as the leader.

Both factions elected party leaders with parallel APC executives (excos) emerging in Ogun state in October 2021.

They have engaged in a running battle for recognition as the authentic state excos by the National Executive Council (NEC) of APC since then – though the NEC – at a point – officially identified Yemi Sanusi, the chairman of the Abiodun-led faction as “validated”.

And contrary to expectations there has been no “harmonization”.

SocietyNow.Ng gathered that Amosun – who is in contention for the APC presidential ticket – in a twist of the unexpected – has directed his members to partake in the primary election organized by the Abiodun faction.

“And naturally, this makes the loss of his men and winning of the Abiodun camp inevitable, because the winners are operating on familiar territories with all the rules of the game in their favor and referees in alliance with them” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.
