Kola Karim, one of the biggest players in the oil and gas industry is not happy.

And the cause of Karim’s dissatisfaction is attributed to recent action by Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation GMD, Maikanti Baru.

Baru just upset the balance of a big business Karim and his Shoreline Group has a huge stake.

Societynow.ng gathered though uncomfortable with the development Kola who is also the chairman of Costain West Africa has opted not to take the NNPC boss headlong.

The investigation conducted by societynow.ng revealed that Baru just awarded an NNPC (Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation) Oil infrastructure surveillance contract in the Niger Delta.

“The contract has to do with surveillance of the 87- kilometre Trans-Forcados Pipeline (TFP)” societynow.ng gathered.

Karim’s Shoreline Energy group is said to be one of the operators of the Oilwell under surveillance.

The cause of Karim’s unhappiness is said to have roots in claims that his company already forged a fantastic working relationship with those formerly handling the Oil Infrastructure surveillance contract – and the locals.

“Awarding the contract to a new firm, Ocean Marine Solution has upsets that balance and the oil facility is under threat as the locals’ protest, issuing all manners of threats over the development” a source stated.

Karim, 49, who is decorated with the label of founding and controlling the third largest indigenous oil producer in Nigeria – Shoreline Natural Resources – is said to be aghast at the shape the Oil surveillance contract issue has taken.

Karim’s Shoreline Group is a conglomerate with interests in Oil exploration and production, power generation, construction, commodities trading and telecommunication.
