There is a growing development on social media.

Governor of Lagos state Akinwunmi Ambode is receiving hard knocks for celebrating his nomination as a part of the delegation to the ongoing world cup in Russia, in the face of the tragic incident at Ojuelegba.

On Tuesday June 19 2018, a truck with unknown registration number conveying a huge load of foreign wooden sheets (HDF) tilted while negotiating the curved of the bridge on Tuesday night and spilled its content on four vehicles – a Toyota Corolla car and three commercial buses.

The accident reportedly resulted in the death of three people and injuries to two others.

The development attracted widespread media coverage and comments on and offline.

Lasema – The Lagos state emergency management agency – responded to the development.

But re election seeking state Governor Ambode is facing growing criticism for celebrating his nomination as part of the world cup delegation, instead of “identifying” with his people in such a trying time.

The criticism is being latched onto by those all out to stop the Governor from securing a second term – within and outside – his political party, All Progressives Congress.
