Sunday, September 9, 2018, Benedict Alabi attended a church service at Winners Chapel.

Alabi is the deputy governor candidate of All Progressives Congress in Osun state.

Gboyega Oyetola – expressly backed by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu – is the gubernatorial candidate of the APC for the election scheduled for Saturday, September 22.

Societynow.ng gathered deputy governor candidate Alabi was invited to the branch of the Winners Chapel on Ring Road Road, Oke Onitea area of Osogbo, Osun state on the fateful Sunday.

“Alabi got a reception he didn’t bargain for” societynow.ng learned.

“There was just silence when his name was called for recognition” a source disclosed to societynow.ng.

This development is said to be a far cry from the “hailing” that greeted the announcement of others in attendance, including the Resident Electoral Commissioner.

Societynow.ng learned even after the service, Alabi was left alone.

“There was no hailing no milling around Alabi after the service” a source stated and insisted “he left as he came…very quietly!”.

Societynow.ng learned the development is being interpreted as the “how the people of Osun see Alabi and his political party in the state”.

Alabi is from Ikire, in Osun West Senatorial district.

Alabi was picked by the APC as deputy to Oyetola as part of efforts to share the votes from Osun West, which is the stronghold of People’s Democratic Party gubernatorial candidate, Demola Adeleke.

“For someone meant to play a vital role in a major election that was a very bad outing,” source disclosed to societynow.ng.
