Before former commissioner in Lagos State Gbolahan Lawal was announced as the new Lagos King Oniru, Aremo Segun Oniru had dropped out of the race.
Aremo Oniru, the heir of the immediate past King of Iruland, the high business, and premium real estate area, Oba Abiodun Oniru was one of the two leading contenders for the throne.
The other is serving police officer Hakeem Ajasa whose family, according to those in the know, ‘’history’’ favors picking the new king of Iruland.
Aremo Oniru had stepped down for Ajasa before the shocking emergence of new King Gbolahan Lawal, who took the throne within 72hours of his entry into the race thanks to the political will of powerful politician Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Societynow.ng gathered that Aremo Oniru was forced out of the race for his father’s throne based on two options.
‘’Support the decision of Tinubu and embrace political elevation or suffer the embarrassment of defeat and remain a pariah’’ according to information at hand.
Insiders disclosed that Aremo Oniru chose to support the decision of the definition of political and economic power called Bola Tinubu.
Societynow.ng gathered that this decision implies that Aremo Oniru returns fully to active politicking that he took a terminal leave from over eight years ago in preparation for the ill-fated move to succeed his father as the Oniru of Iruland.
