Palace guards have “chained” the residence of Queen Silekunola Naomi within the place of Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi in Ife, Osun state SocietyNow.Ng learned.

The development happened after the Queen left the palace in protest against the King’s decision that her mother and siblings take up residence outside her marriage (the Palace).

The Queen, her mother, and six of her siblings have been residing in the palace since she got married to Ooni Ogunwusi 3years ago (2018).

The revered King decided it was time for the Queen’s mother and his wife’s six siblings to take up residence outside the palace after battling the “inconvenience” for 3years.

“But Queen Silekunola would have none of it, she insisted she goes anywhere her mother goes and she left the place with her mother and siblings since the Ooni was not ready to backdown on his decision” SocietyNow.Ng learned.

Emerging details have it that after waiting for a few days whether the Queen would have a rethink and return to save her marriage and she did not, “Ife Elders” ordered palace guards to chain her residence.

Information at hand revealed that before she left the palace, the “Ife Elders” (leaders running the affairs of kingdom with the Ooni) met with Queen Silekunola on the implication of abandoning her marriage and duties – and directly going against the wishes of her husband – by leaving her matrimonial home along with her mother and siblings – but she stood firm by her decision.

The “Ife Elders” met with the Queen about three times but she insisted if her mother does not stay with her, she would leave and she did three weeks ago- along with her six siblings who were also residents at the palace courtesy of her status.

“The implication of chaining her residence is that she is gone for good. That is the interpretation according to customs and tradition” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

Added information has it that the Queen announced the end of her three-year-old marriage to the Ooni days after palace guards chained her residence.

“With the chain put on her residence, it was clear it would take something extraordinary to return her to the palace and she opted to own the narrative before speculations and related things started decorating her new status” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

“Naturally, there are indications of other underlying reasons but that is the primary cause of her exit from the palace” SocietyNow.Ng further learned.
