Aide Tells Cause Of Fire At Ooni’s Palace

no casualty, injury, or loss of cultural item was suffered

The cause of the recent fire at the palace of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi has been revealed.

An aide of the frontline traditional ruler made the revelation.

“A building apartment within the courtyard of the Palace Of The Ooni Of Ife was at about 11:30pm yesterday engulfed in flames of fire incident triggered by power surge which exploded through electrical appliances in the affected apartment” Moses Olafare, the Director of Media to the Ooni stated in a press statement.

“The inferno did not spread beyond the affected building located at a section of the palace premises as it was swiftly put off through the combined efforts of the Government Fire Service, OAU Fire Service & Palace Emergency Control Unit.” the statement further revealed.

Olafare added that no casualty, injury, or loss of cultural item was suffered in the fire.
