Naij.com Sports: How is the club’s preparation for the coming season in the National League?
Abolaji: Preparation or what did u say?
Naij.com Sports: Yes, I mean how is your club (ABS) preparing for next season?
Abolaji: I think the manager or the club owner (Saraki) himself should answer that, because as far as I’m concerned, I don’t know anything about any preparation.
Naij.com Sports: Why? I think there was a press release last week that preparation for next season has started at ABS?
Abolaji: They have been lying to you media people as if all is well with the club, but I can tell you that we the players are suffering.
Naij.com Sports: What do you mean by you are suffering, or have you forgotten that your club is being owned by the Nigeria Senate president?
Abolaji: That has been the talk for all these months, and I want to first ask you how would be able to cope if your employers refused to pay you for 18 months.
Naij.com Sports: What do you mean? You mean the Senate president has refused to pay you for 18 months?
Abolaji: Yes, he has refused to look to our side despite all the pleas by so many notable people, but sorry to say, this man is so wicked.
Naij.com Sports: Are you being owed only 18 months salaries or their are other entitlements?
Abolaji: Which mouth are we going to use to ask for other entitlements when the salary that suppose to be flowing like water has not been coming.
Naij.com Sports: Why have you players kept quite all these months?
Abolaji: We have been silent because of the good team manager we have as he has been spending his personal money to assist us in one way or the other, and sometimes we do pity him.
Naij.com Sports: When was the last time you players heard from the Senate president who owns the club.
Abolaji: It has been long, and if I can remember, I think close to two years now.
Naij.com Sports: We learnt that the Senate president has made his son the new chairman of the club, what has been the words of his son?
Abolaji: I don’t have business with all what he has been saying, because the key issue which is the money they are owing us has not been addressed.
Naij.com Sports: How have you been coping for the last 18 months?
Abolaji: With the help of God, family, friends and other team-mates who has left the club for other teams.
Naij.com Sports: Do you wish to go on in this situation or what is your plan as the captain of the club?
Abolaji: I have some things I’m doing which I cannot reveal now to anyone, but let’s see as things go.
