The Real Guber Candidate?…Supporters Confuse As Yayi, Adebutu, GNI Join Forces

There is a growing confusion in the ranks of supporters of top contenders for the governorship position of Ogun state in 2019.

The popular aspirants Senator Olamilekan Solomon Adeola (Yayi), Gbenga Nasir Isiaka (GNI)and Ladi Adebutu (Lado) have joined forces with other political power brokers to wrestle power from incumbent governor Ibikunle Amosun and his team.Ladi Adebutu

While Amosun is not eligible to re-contest – after two term -, he is working keenly to put his choice as successor. And ensure his political party, All Progressives Congress retains power in the state.

Though Yayi is in the same party with Amosun, the Senator from Lagos ranks along with Adebutu and GNI and others from the opposition People’s Democratic Party, the governor is very keen do not succeed him.

Amosun after four years in office has a vice grip on the politics of Ogun state and appears the only one with a formidable structure to achieve his objective.

And to give him a fight for his “might”, the contenders are working on a coalition of forces – with former governor Gbenga Daniel at the head.

The coalition of forces given the name Rainbow Coalition held it’s first meeting last week in Shagamu (Ogun state) – the base of the ex governor.

But the development has given rise to growing confusion.

Who is the real candidate? Who will be the consensus candidate? which of the candidates would the merged forces throw weight behind?

These are the raging posers causing confusion in the ranks of supporters of the top aspirants as they lay claim – on behalf of their patrons – to right of ownership to backing the “authentic candidate”.
