Insiders say that victory is “very sure” for Hammed Idowu Tijani the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming chairmanship election in Ojokoro Local Council Development Area.

Idowu Tijani popular known as “HID” is seeking a second term in office.

Societynow.ng gathered that aside from the massive works that he did that earned him a second term ticket, talks of the certainty of a second term are premised of the caliber of big wigs backing him within and outside the council area – and his political party.

Among the impressive list of those backing him for a second term in office are a Federal House of Representatives James Owolabi and former state lawmaker Ipoola Omisore.

These influential persons are joined in the roll call by powerful players in the political and social space of the council and beyond such as Rasheed Makinde – an incumbent member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, former council chairman Benjamin Olabinjo, respected figure Mohammed Adelaja and Honourable A.A Akindele.

“HID has all the who is who, all the people that make things happen in Ojokoro LCDA in rooting for him” societynow.ng learned.

Further revelation has it that these strong supports come in the face of the popularity enjoy by Hammed Idowu Tijani who provided a vital helping hand to the aged, widows, and widowers, and the less privileged generally and ensured that all the developmental programmes of his first term spread across the seven wards in Ojokoro Local Council Development Area.

“I don’t see how he won’t win the coming election. He is popular thanks to the good works he has done in his first term in office and his pedigree in the LCDA and he has all the powerful people backing for him” Prince Abimbola Oginni a stakeholder and passionate supporter asserted.

The checks by societynow.ng revealed that Hid Idowu Tijani who is a graduate of Business Administration, Lagos State University and is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Diplomacy Management grew through the ranks, which made him have influence across all cadres in the LCDA.

The information at hand revealed that the Rotarian started out as a dock worker in 1989 and later became the Personal Assistant (P.A) to the then Chairman of the Lagos State Ferry Service Corporation, Late. Hon Saliu Olaitan Mustafa. He equally served as the Personal Assistant (Political), to the then Lagos State Commissioner for Agriculture & Cooperatives, Late. Barr R.A Baruwa and Engr. Akinyemi Beckley, the then Chairman, Lagos State Electricity Board between 1991 and 1994.

He leveraged on the experiences in these positions to win election as the General Secretary of Ward LA, Agege Local Government under the platform of the then National Republican Convention (N.R.C) between 1990 and 1994.

According to added revelation “HID” Tijani, in 1998, contested as Councilor representing Ward J of Ifako/Ijaiye Local Government under the platform of Alliance for Democracy (A.D). Between 2004 and 2007, he was appointed as Supervisor for Education at Ojokoro Local Council Development Area (LCDA) under the platform of Action Congress (A.C).
