Senator Amosun’s Men Finally Adopt PDP’s Olumide Aderinokun As His Successor
Amosun, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is not seeking re-election
The information available revealed that the chances of Olumide Aderinokun, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for Ogun Central Senatorial district succeeding Ibikunle Amosun looks surer.
Those who should know disclose that supporters of Senator Amosun have adopted Aderinokun as their preferred successor.
“There were talks this was in offing, it has now been agreed” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.
Amosun, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is not seeking re-election.
The APC’s Ogun Central Senatorial ticket for the 2023 election has been given to Salisu Afolabi Shuaib, the former Chief of Staff to Governor Dapo Abiodun.
Shuaib got the senatorial ticket in a winner take all move by Governor Abiodun that gave him control of the party and sidelined Amosun and his supporters.
None of Amosun’s loyalists got any APC ticket for the 2023 election in Ogun State.
Amosun in an interest protection step – and payback move – took over the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for his supporters to contest the 2023 election, particularly the gubernatorial contest with Biyi Otegbeye as flagbearer.
The ADC, however, does not have a senatorial candidate in Ogun Central paving the way for the adoption of PDP’s Aderinokun who is close to key players in Amosun’s camp.
