Politics is a game of interest, particularly for the discerning and that is what has played out between Senator Lekan Mustapha and former Governor Ibikunle Amosun SocietyBow.Ng gathered.
“There were unfolding political developments that threatened his interests and, he left” according to information at hand.
Amosun inspite of the long-held perception in his camp that Mustapha is a highly favored ally, was reportedly lukewarm towards the Senator’s much talked about gubernatorial ambition.

“Amosun wasn’t even considering gubernatorial aspirants from Mustapha’s zone in Ijebu in the push to stop Abiodun’s re-election bid” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.
And to compound the situation Amosun in increasing efforts to stop Abiodun’s re-election entered into alliance talks with leaders of other political structures, including former Governor Gbenga Daniel who has declared interest in taking Over the Ogun East senatorial seat from Mustapha.

“The handwriting on the wall was clear to Mustapha, he wasn’t getting support for his gubernatorial ambition and the risk of losing his senatorial ticket as a member of the Amosun political family has become bigger, so he left for the Abiodun camp” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.
In joining the Governor Abiodun political camp, Mustapha let go of his gubernatorial ambition but boosted his chances of retaining his seat as the Senator representing Ogun East.
Senators Amosun and Mustapha and former Governor Gbenga Daniel are members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
