Wale Adedayo the popular politician known as Babalawo in Ogun state says the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun “does not seem to have a clue about what to do” in the face of the rising cost of living.

Adedayo took the position in response to the purchase of 100 trucks load of rice by the Abiodun administration to be resold at cheaper to residents of the state.

The Governor on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, told stakeholders at a meeting in Abeokuta that the rice would be subsidized and made available at the rate it was before the recent astronomical rise in the prices of the commodities.

The Governor said the poor, the elderly, and the vulnerable would enjoy free allocation.

But, Adedayo, a former House of Representatives aspirant differed fingering a more permanent and different way to tackle the issue at hand.

The impeached chairman of Ijebu-East Local Government made his position known in a narrative- along with the image of a person crying out “We are hungry” – that reads…

“Up North, there is serious move about increase in agricultural output. Farmers are being assisted with inputs from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture. The Governors have had fruitful meetings with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture.

Anambra, Niger, Kebbi and Jigawa states among others are currently busy with deploying mechanized farming on a large scale. But Chief Obafemi Awolowo’s state of birth, Ogun, is happy with distribution of rice and its sale. But not from what it produced o! No sustainable definite effort to boost agricultural output in a state blessed by God with fertile land. We have become specialists in audio and video agriculture. The results, of course, are visible in the markets. Of course, Propaganda Farming can only boost #Ebinpawao! (#Wearehungry)

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo pioneered Operation Feed the Nation. He walked his talk by opening farms all over the place, employing thousands in the process. Today, it is a very different story. Why are the elders in Ogun State sleeping? Kilode ti e fi kip kwayet (Why are you keeping quiet) as the current administration does not seem to have a clue about what to do? Se buying and selling yi naa ni a maa ma se lo? (Is it this buying and selling we will continue to do)

Won claim wipe awon ti beere si fun each local government ni N100 million per month (They said the have started giving each local government N100m per month). #Koseleri, a dupe. Sugbon, se tooto ni? ( It has never happened before, thank you but is it true) Ati wipe, kilode ti owo naa ko fi ara han ni igboro??? (But why is the impact of the fund not visible).”

Adedayo made shared his thoughts in a social media post – Facebook) he made on Friday, February 23, 2024.
