There is a fresh round of defection talks decorating the person of Governor Ibikunle Amosun.

This development is said to have roots in two major occurrences.

One of Amosun’s hardcore loyalists Mukaila Kazeem just defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress.

Mukaila is one of the casualties of the ongoing political fight that has greatly reduced the power and influence of the Governor of Ogun state.

Mukaila, a Federal House of Representatives member, has been denied re-election as a result of the campaign against Amosun within the APC.

Adekunle Akinlade, the gubernatorial aspirant preferred by Amosun is also intensely decorated with talks of dumping the APC.

There are growing talks other not so popular- but vital – foot soldiers of Amosun are moving out of the APC.

This move is said to be against the background of allegation Governor Amosun intends to prove he remains the power behind APC in Ogun state.

Amosun has been denied opportunity to pick his successor with estranged friend Dapo Abiodun emerging the official gubernatorial candidate of APC in Ogun state.

Amosun ended up losing the party tickets of hardcore loyalists in a clinical campaign that greatly whittled his influence as leader of the party in Ogun state.

Though there is said to be an ongoing reconciliation effort between the Abiodun and Amosun camp, fresh defection talks decorating the governor’s staunch loyalists indicate all is not well with the peace process.

‘’the emerging talks is that the peace talk is collapsing because the Abiodun camp is not willing to give in to the main demands of the Amosun side’’ a source offered.
