Oyegun & Utomi Lead ADC’s 50-Strong Dream Team For 2027

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has unveiled a 50-member Policy and Manifesto Committee, a move the party says demonstrates its commitment to offering Nigerians a credible, people-centered alternative ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The committee, described as a “dream team,” will be responsible for crafting a comprehensive policy framework reflecting the aspirations of Nigerians and promoting national renewal.

At the helm is Chief John Odigie-Oyegun as Chairman, with Professor Pat Utomi serving as Deputy Chairman and Salihu Lukman as Secretary. The committee brings together a diverse mix of experienced politicians, technocrats, academics, civil society leaders, and professionals, representing expertise in governance, economic management, social development, security, and democratic reform.

The full list of members includes Senator Gershon Bassey, Senator J.J. Akpan Udo-Udeghe, Ambassador Abiye Mohammed, H.E. Simon Achuba, Professor Ibrahim Garba, Bala Usman, Bulus Bello Zaki Piko, Ose Anenih, Dr Nicholas Msheliza, Dr David Olofu, Dr Okey Ezegwu, Dr Mohammed Jibrin Yusufari, Joel Adi Gani, Professor Jude Njoku, Miss Yemi Adamolekun, Professor Anthony Kila, Nkovo Toyo, Dr Usman Bugaje, Oseloka Obaze, Dr Otive Igbuzor, Engr. Bello Suleiman, Professor Chidi Odinkalu, AVM Sadique Abubakar, Madam Jumoke Olawuyi, Professor Murtala Sagagi, Dr Kerian Wobodo, Dr Fatima Zara Saleh, Professor Kolapo Eleka, Barr Makber Oson Jacob, Professor Remi Sonaiya, Moji Ajayi (Mrs), Professor Sam Amadi, Dr Babayo Ardo, Pastor Funke Awowolo, Dr Ndubuisi Nwobu, Hon. Izuagie, Chief (Mrs) Uwaoma Olevengwa, Alhaja Hafsat Moji Bello, and Hon. Sani Yakubu Noma.

ADC National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, emphasized that the formation of the committee reflects the party’s resolve to produce policies rooted in competence, integrity, and national consensus. “Nigeria’s challenges demand practical and implementable solutions, and this committee represents the calibre of minds capable of delivering them,” he said.

The formal inauguration of the committee is scheduled for Monday, February 2, 2026, at the ADC National Secretariat in Abuja. Party officials expressed confidence that the committee’s work will culminate in a robust manifesto capable of engaging Nigerians and presenting a serious alternative in the political arena.

Mallam Abdullahi reiterated that the ADC remains committed to a platform where policies, not personalities, drive governance. “With this committee in place, the ADC is ready to demonstrate that leadership in Nigeria can be visionary, inclusive, and accountable,” he added.

As the committee prepares to commence its work, political observers are keenly watching how its recommendations will shape the ADC’s positioning and strategy in addressing Nigeria’s pressing socio-economic and governance challenges.
