Informants alleged quite a chunk of the top and mid level officers have this and that blot on manner of elevation to position, all with roots in political patronage.

Providing insight into reasons for the development, Insiders revealed that Governor Ambode believes that to succeed, he needs an effective and dependable civil service. And to achieve that, he needs to create a system that workers have strong confidence in getting rewarded for exemplary service.

Opponents of the Governor however alleged victimisation.

They claimed the new administration is using the process to ‘witch hunt’ loyalists of his political foes, particular staunch supporters of immediate past Governor Babatunde Fashola.

Supporters of Ambode however put the allegations down to political talks and unnecessary attempts at distraction insisting if the affected workers so far do not have skeleton in their cupboards why are they keeping mute over alleged persecution?
