Oshiomole Says No Room For Entertainers – Creators Of $Multibillionaira Industry – In Politics

National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole says there is no room for entertainers defined as role interpreters and musicians in the politics.

“I go to the cinema or nightclubs” to see or hear them he declared at a major press conference.

The face of the ruling party made the declaration while condemning the defection of Benue state governor Samuel Ortom from the APC to the People’s Democratic Party.

He likened Ortom to an entertainer in a manner that demeans the achievement of the Governor and the virile industry.

Interestingly the fact contradicts Oshiomole’s posture.

According to the records, the entertainment industry has witnessed a tremendous growth at a time ‘’governance’’ as nosedived beyond measure.

The entertainment industry which has transformed into a multi-billion dollars enterprise remains a major sparkle in whatever growth the nation has witnessed in the last 15years.

Nollywood is estimated to attract an income of $750million.

And the industry credited with contributing significantly to the projected growth for the continent (Africa).

‘’a far cry from the plunge that has taken hold of governance thanks to politicians’’ a source claimed.

But Oshiomole by his assertion claims the talents behind a major national development have no business in politics and governance.

And relegates them to cinemas and nightclubs in his submission!

The national chairman of the ruling party labeling entertainers jokers insists ‘’we want to see statesmen and stateswomen in government house, not jokers’’.

Interestingly the APC chairman made his volte-face on Ortom less than 3days after he praised the Benue governor for exemplary leadership – before the later dumped his party.

And more alarmingly, stakeholders in the robust sector have turned a blind eye to the extraordinary smear on the hard work and corresponding rewards of an industry making the nation proud home and abroad.
