Popular politician Musiliu Obanikoro has declared the “failed” Ogun state gubernatorial ambition of Senator Olamilekan Solomon Adeola has “an insult to lagosians”.

Obanikoro who defected from the People’s Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress and wants to take over Adeola’s position as Senator representing Lagos West made the assertion from a “moral point of view”.

According to information available Obanikoro made the assertion in a recent interview featured on national daily, Thisday Newspaper.

The exchange between Obanikoro and his interviewers sourced on the facebook page of Lekan Fatodu, publisher and All Progressives Congress aspirant reads

ThisDay reporter – “What is your reading of Yayi’s failed governorship bid in Ogun State and his return to Lagos?”

Koro – “I have to be mindful of what I say about my younger brother, who is currently representing Lagos West. But the truth of the matter is if you ask me from a moral standpoint, I will say that nobody has the right to two states. What he’s aspiring to has never happened in the history of Nigeria. It’s an insult to Lagosians…”

Adeola better known as Yayi is fighting to retain his Senatorial seat after he was “muscled” out of the Ogun state gubernatorial race.Solomon Adeola

He faces strong competition from Obanikoro , formerly a Senator representing Lagos Central but now wants to return to the Senate as a representative of Lagos West.

Both Obanikoro and Yayi are said to have been promised the Senatorial seat by powerful politician Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

And obviously all out to outdo one another to show their principal who is more popular with the people – and party.
