Minister Adebayo Shittu Celebrates Ajimobi’s Senatorial Election Loss

Those who are privy to happening in the home of Minister Adebayo Shittu have revealed him to be a very happy man at the moment.

Responsible for his present happy mode is said to be the fact that the incumbent governor of oyo state lost in his bid to go to the red chamber of the nation’s national assembly.

Governor Ajimobi actually is the APC candidate for Oyo South Senatorial District during the Saturday February 23, 2019 general elections.

He was trounced by Kola Balogun of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 105,720 votes.

While incumbent governor Ajimobi got 92,217 votes.

Kola Balogun is a former Commissioner for Commerce and Cooperatives in oyo state.

Shittu and Ajimobi are fellow party men and leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress in oyo state.

Adebayo Shittu is the minister of communication in the cabinet of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Insider revealed the Communication Minister actually had a toast with his trusted followers over the development.

The celebration, societynow.ng pieced together, happened at the Minister’s Samonda area – stone throw from where University Of Ibadan is located – of Ibadan home.

Mr Shittu was among big names that showed interest in Oyo state APC gubernatorial ticket.

He was disqualified by his party following allegation he did not partake in the compulsory National Youth Service Corps programme.

Ajimobi was however believed in many quarters to be behind the political machination that got Shittu disqualified from the race.
