Why Insiders Insist Amosun Faces Disgrace In Intensified Campaign To Make Akinlade Next Gov Of Ogun State

Insiders insist governor of Ogun state Ibikunle Amosun faces huge disgrace in his renewed effort to make Allied People’s Movement’s gubernatorial candidate Adekunle Akinlade the next governor of Ogun state.

Amosun is one of the leader’s of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun state and just became Senator-Elect on the platform of the APC.

All the candidates of APM in the general election, except the House of Representatives member from Akinlade’s federal constituency, failed to win a seat in the just concluded national assembly election.

This development has resulted in claims in several quarters that Amosun’s won as a result of flying the banner of the APC and the last minute efforts of former Governor Segun Osoba to prevail on party members from engaging in a protest vote against him.

‘’If he had contested on the platform of the APM he is promoting he would have lost heavily’’ insiders within the APC insist.

Checks by societynow.ng revealed that Amosun’s strongmen such as Mikail ‘’Miccky’’ Kazeem, Rotimi ‘’Arugbo’’ Rahaman, Biyi Ismail, Leke Adewolu and others suffered heavy defeats in the recently concluded National Assembly contest.

‘’Even Derin Adebiyi, the Chairman of his faction of APC who is hand in glove with him in the Akinlade for governor Agenda lost his polling unit in the last general election’’ a source asserted.

Insisting Aremo Osoba rescued Amosun from defeat by appealing to members to vote for him in the last general election, an insider claim the consensus of opinion within the APC- and on the street – is that Amosun just set a new date for his disgrace with refusal to back down in bid to make rival party’s candidate Akinlade is successor.

However, in the face of these claims, Amosun has refused to back down in his efforts to make the APM gubernatorial candidate the next governor of Ogun state.

The governor has ‘’taken off the gloves’’ and is now engaged in an all-out campaign to achieve his aim.

Societynow.ng learned Amosun currently postures the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari in Ogun state as the handiwork of Akinlade and APM.

‘’This despite the fact that APM won only in Akinlade’s zone and lost in the contest for all other National Assembly seats’’ a source pointed out.

Insiders disclosed that Osoba is appeasing APC members that are angry that he made them help Amosun get elected as a ‘’Senator’’ with talks that Amosun’s ‘’ungratefulness’’ should for the determination to disgrace the governor in the upcoming March 9 governorship and state house of assembly election.

Societynow.ng gathered that Osoba stands in a very good position to achieve the objective of helping APC gubernatorial candidate Dapo Abiodun to power – and winning a large percentage of the State House of Assembly seats – judging from the result of the last general election and the fact that most of Amosun’s main men now back the former governor.
