Meet Politician With Biggest Clout On The Streets In Osoba’s Base

Talks about town have identified the politician with the biggest clout on the streets in the political base of Aremo Olusegun Osoba.

Osoba, a former Governor is the leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun state.

His son, Olumide is on his third tenure as the House of Representatives member representing Obafemi/Owode/Odeda/ Abeokuta-North Federal constituency – Osoba’s political base.

But those who should insist that despite these impressive standings by the Osobas, another politician possesses the ranking of the person with the most influential clout on and off the streets.

Insides further declared that it is not even Senator Afolabi Shuaib, the immediate past Chief of Staff to Governor Dapo Abiodun who is from the area.

The information available affirms Tunji Samson Egbtokun as the person with the most influential street clout in that axis of Ogun state.

Egbetokun, a former Speaker of Ogun state was a Senior Special Adviser on political matters in the first term of Governor Dapo Abiodun.

“He contributed to the development of the area by lobbying projects and appointments and employments for the people of the area” according to those in the know.

A major contributor to Egbetokun’s influence in the area is said to be the siting of his businesses in the area. And unrelentingly identifying all persons.

The politician is said to be a major player in real estate in the area.

Those who should know added that Egbetokun’s status as the face of the Yayi movement ( the formidable group of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola) also tremendously helped his street clout.

The Yayi political structure is the primary platform that helped Governor Abiodun – in partnership with others including OGD group led by Gbenga Daniel- win his first term in 2019 and second term in 2023.

Egbetokun is known as a frontline player in the Yayi Group which transformed Solomon Olamilekan from a Lagos West Senator to Ogun West Senator in 2023 and is working to make him Governor of Ogun state in 2027.
